Website problems!!!We would hope that you would never have a problem loading any of our pages, but know that sometimes you will. Most of these problems you will realize are problems you also get across the internet in general, in that when servers or parts of the system is under load it has a nasty habit of saying the page is unavailable or does not exist. Often just clicking on refresh will make the page load, other times going back a page and trying again will solve it. Some ISP's cache (store) pages, so that they can reduce the traffic, and because of this once they have shown a page fail or error they will sometimes continue to show the same for a period. AOL often does this, and we find that by minimizing AOL and starting internet explorer and accessing the same site or page will often bring up the page or site properly. All the internal links within our web site have not only been checked by us, but are also monitored using frontpage the package we use to create these sites, and this has a reporting feature that checks for and reports broken links. Other facilities within FrontPage allow us to see what links go to a particular page so should we move a page we can make sure all changes have been made or links removed. We need your help to tell us if things do not work for you However things can go wrong, sites get corrupted or other problems exist, such as incompatibility between systems or browsers, so if you do experience a problem that persists for more than a day, we would be grateful if you could tell us as precisely as you can which pages you have problems with and what problems you experience. Putting your mouse pointer over hyperlink shows the page name of the page that should load at the bottom of the screen. It is helpful if you tell us the page the link is on and the page the link is to, as well as what browser and ISP you are using. Spelling and similar errors. You cannot do anything without making mistakes and we will have made some, in some cases we will have made a typing error that the spell checker has not spotted and we have missed in all our proof reading stages. Sometimes it will be a valid but wrong word in the context, if you spot these then please tell us and we will do our best to correct them. If you feel we have made factual errors then please point them out, so we can check them out. If you have problems with statistics or similar you perhaps need to make sure the source you are comparing us with is accurate and not biased. You will also find that figures, such as the rise in house prices, vary from one building societies figures to another and from area to area. On occasions we will have used an American or international spelling of a word or an alternative spelling that is valid but perhaps different to the one you would have used, as long as it is understandable, we don't want to hear about these. We also don't need to hear from those who would have phrased sentences differently or used different punctuation. Could you share your insight with an article? Providing you are able to write an article from a neutral perspective, and by this we mean you are not selling a service and promoting it through the article, we would be delighted to include articles that would be of inertest to other visitors to this site. If you have an axe to grind for example you are an Independent Financial Advisor (insurance and pension salesman), and feel that people looking at property, art, and other forms of investments to build a pension fund is not a good idea, then providing that you state clearly that you benefit by people buying insurance and into pension schemes, we would of course like to consider your article. Our view is that conceptually a wide mix is ideal, however many people just don't have the available cash to go for a bit of everything and therefore its a choice between investing (interest bearing accounts, good property decisions, self build, holiday homes in solid places, i.e. most of the USA, etc) and speculating (casinos, lotteries, shares, pension schemes based on shares, horse races, risky property speculation, property conversion and renovation unless you really know the market, property in some countries for example Spain). We don't want to go too far off topic, this site is about property being used to create wealth or a pension, so while we would agree art and antiques are other interesting areas, we don't want to cover it in depth here. Similarly we don't want to get into the discussion about what type of share speculation is safe or otherwise. |
