Business Management Handholding (M1)

Why handholding

Like all other handholding services, this is intended to empower you to run your own business rather than to run it for you.

It is likely that you have some skills and experience, probably more than you realize, and with a little help and support, you will be able to run everything yourself, learning as you go, but also with the confidence that an experienced company secretary and director is there to help you, and to teach you the new skills or tell you where to look for information as the need arises.

It is likely to start with that you will just want some parts handled for you, system set up, and to make sure everything happens as fast as possible, but then as time progresses you will want to take on more yourself, until you reach a point where you no longer need to have constant ongoing support in all that you do.

How it works

We start by understanding the situation you are in, this process also creates a ring binder, with necessary reference sections, defines diary points for known actions and identifies what has still to be organized. It is therefore a case of understand, research and document.

You define with us what help you need and a schedule to both get help and to learn new skills yourself. In the early stages we are likely to be more involved and be prompting you or organizing things for you, as time goes on in many cases you will start to do more yourself, but don't have to.

From this point on you are able to ask for help when you want and do what you like yourself. If anything within the plan we know of has changed you need of course to tell us.

You have no commitment to use the service for a set amount of time and can stop and start as you wish.

Often where the handholding service is being used rather than charged separately for other management services such as making overseas payments or sorting out the formation of companies etc, these are covered as a part of the ongoing handholding service.

Empowering those you love

Often the case will arise where the main earner in the family just does not have time to undertake the management of the projects themselves and sees it as an ideal opportunity for a partner or a son or daughter, however they also realize that not only would this person be out of their depth, but the financial risk of leaving them completely in control unaided from the beginning is not a safe move to make.

In these cases a combination of handholding and possibly a director helps the situation to run peacefully and smoothly and at the same time makes the operation more profitable and less risky.

Copper members

This service can be used in two different ways, as a stand alone service that you want to join the club to use and as an add on to another service. The difference principally is in the preparation and understanding of the project and your needs. The way we cover this from a cost perspective is to have several different registration fees, and then to have standard charges from there.

There are therefore two elements to the pricing of this service a registration charge covering defining the project and background research and ongoing charges relating to the time used. You however only call on help as and when you want so over time the amount of help and therefore cost will reduce.

As you will see this follows the pattern that the more involved and better preparation we already have the less work there is in picking up the project. With the H3 service the same people who run this management system will have been involved in the creation of the manual you get that explains everything you need to know.

The first three require some time with you to see what exactly has happened to date and then often a while spent doing some background research, so as to get to a firm understanding of the situation and what needs to be done ahead.

Ongoing charges (all member types)

This service is designed to be run from our office, and therefore is priced lower when this occurs than when you want us to visit you.

Telephone support

Based on the time charged in multiples of 30 minutes, with a minimum charge for 30 minutes. It should be remembered that in addition to the time on the phone, often some additional research will be needed and documentation has to be kept up to date, so where you are using the service infrequently the cost per call can be greater.

Other costs

If you want us to do something for you that involves us in costs, for example hotel stays or air travel, we charge this straight on to you.

How to get this going

Call the clubs main number 01242 678988 and explain your situation briefly they will sort out with you what registration fee is involved and you should then pay that. There are ways to do this fast when its critical to get help fast. 

The main options are 

• Send in a cheque, the simplest  but this requires time to clear.
• Pay on line via Paypal, using a debit or credit card,
• Pay cash into a branch of a bank we specify near to you and we will see it show up on our computer system.
• Other methods can be arranged if none of these are applicable to you.

Once the payment is received we arrange an appointment normally for you to come to our office near Cheltenham, we can collect and return you to the station if this helps. At this meeting we get a full understanding with you of the project and what needs doing or researching further. We have a lot of resources here as well as experienced people so can often achieve far more than you would expect at this first meeting.

From this point some events or help is scheduled and other help you ask for when required.
