New member recruitment status - Held

As a club our priority is in providing services for existing members rather then recruiting new ones, so although e would love to have you as a member, we can only take on members at the rate we can provide services for them. With the large growth in 'Buy to Let', we have had to watch that we do not extend ourselves to a point where we are unable to service existing members.

We are also limiting our growth for a few months, probably until the summer of 2005, so that the resources that the Self Build Homes Club needs are available. They have major benefits from becoming larger, like being able to organize more joint projects, while our members don't really benefit all that much from increasing the size of the club.

The new member recruitments status bar above tells you what the position is at the moment

  • Held means we cannot sign up any new members at the moment

  • Restricted means, we can but the number is restricted, and the bar may be updated at any time to held. You can join now, but we are likely to stop recruitments again shortly for a period. If you want to use a particular service it may be worth emailing to check we have capacity now.

  • Limited, means we have set a monthly limit, as the number to have joined approaches this limit it will switch to restricted and then to held. If you want to use a particular service it may be worth emailing to check we have capacity now.

  • Open - means we are fully open fore new membership. Not expected for a while.

If membership is on hold you can still get to use our benefits through membership of the other clubs we work closely with, and in any event one of them may be a better one for you to join.

How you go about joining

  1. You decide what membership type you want, check the membership conditions, and look up the rates for the membership types. Decide if you want to pay subscriptions annually, monthly or if you want to become a life member with no more subscriptions to pay.
  2. You need to complete membership application form
  3. If not becoming a life member you also need to complete a standing order form
  4. You send these together with your cheque for your joining fee or life membership to the address on the forms.

General notice: The club and providers of the information are not financial advisors, the information we provide is equivalent to that you might reasonably expect to find in a quality magazine. It is, as far as we can, well researched, facts checked, and independent, unless clearly shown as a club service. The application of this knowledge is down to you and you must decide what is relevant to you in your own circumstances and if you do not have the ability to decide for yourself  you should seek whatever legal or financial advice that you feel is appropriate. Our crystal balls are well polished, but the future even for us can be less than accurately viewed, and therefore you should consider any projection or view that we may present in relation to the future as a mixture of foresight based on information and probability, personal views with a bit of guesswork thrown in, in exactly the same way as any other person or organizations forecasts are. We will of course try to update our information and views as developments occur, or governments or others change the rules of the game. We can make mistakes, or have written something that makes perfect sense to us, but may be unclear for others, if you feel we have then you should let us know, we also like to be told what a good job we are doing.
